Democratic People’s Republic of Korea

Dear Your Excellency,

The Philippines-Korea Solidarity and Friendship Society (PKSFS), its leaders and members sincerely and warmly congratulate Your Excellency, Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un and the Korean people on the 75th founding anniversary of the Workers’ Party of Korea on October 10, 2020.

The 75 years of the glorious revolutionary history of the Workers’ Party of Korea’s has a tremendous impact and is a great living example to countries and peoples in the world who are still fighting for their independence and sovereignty from the clutches of US imperialism and its lackeys.

Red salute and respect to the esteemed and brilliant President Kim Il Sung who led the victorious revolutionary wars for the liberation of the Korean people from the two powerful colonial and imperialist powers – Japan and the United States of America.

President Kim Il Sung, the founder of the Workers’ Party of Korea had been always with the people, listening to them to come out with policies that genuinely reflects the people’s aspirations.

While carrying out a democratic revolution, after their liberation from the Japanese rule in August 1945,  and listening to the peasants in many rural villages he visited, he put forward the historic policy of land reform. On March 5, 1946, the Agrarian Reform Law was promulgated. The vast lands owned by the Japanese imperialists, controlled by landlords and the traitors to the nation were taken without compensation and were freely given out to the peasants with no or just a little parcel of land.  This is a very significant day for the peasants who for centuries yearned that they become owners of the land they tilled.

More reforms were successfully enforced in the liberated northern half of Korea like the  Economic and Agrarian Reforms and nationalization of key industries. Labor Law was enacted providing the workers with full guarantees for their democratic rights.  The Sex Equity Law was similarly enacted to realize the emancipation of women.  Judicial and prosecutorial policies and policies for education and culture were implemented.

The Workers’ Party of Korea put forward the basic line of socialist economic construction after the Korean War (1950-53).  Priority was given to the development of heavy industry at the same time developing light industry and agriculture.

In early 1960’s it built simultaneously the economy and defence to cope with the ever-increasing US aggression.  All the policies are the reflection of the aspiration and need of the Korean people for a prosperous, sovereign and independent state and as masters of their own destiny.

The Workers’ Party of Korea which led the socialist construction over the last decades, has provided the people with compulsory free education of the highest standard and the first medical care, supplied people with food at a low price, provided them with dwelling houses built by the state free of charge and transformed the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea into one and the only tax-free country in the world. The universal free medical service has come into effect on January 1953.

Chairman Kim Jong Il advanced the building of a prosperous and powerful socialist nation.

From the early days of his revolutionary leadership he placed great importance in adhering to independence and realizing the independent politics in state activities.

He developed the Workers’ Party of Korea into an invincible revolutionary party that struck its roots deep into the masses of the people and achieved steel-strong unity.

Despite the ever-increasing schemes of the allied imperialist forces to isolate and stifle the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea in the closing years of the 20th century, Chairman Kim Jong Il administered a unique Songun politics (military first) on a full scale and turned the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea into a world military power and laid a solid foundation for building an economic power.

Supreme Leader KIM JONG UN advanced the idea of giving full play to state-first spirit in the state building and activities. He also provided the highly important guidelines for building a powerful socialist nation and built the strongest defense capability of the country.

The Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un is also showing the world how the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea deals with the continuing threats of US imperialism.

Under his leadership the Workers’ Party of Korea continues its great responsibility of taking care of its people.

With the outbreak of COVID-19 worldwide which caused so much suffering and deaths to people even in imperialist countries, many of their leaders were caught off-guard.  We believe that many countries can learn from how the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea under the leadership of Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un, which is under severe sanctions and blockades care and protect its people.

Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un’s foresight on the danger of the pandemic enabled them to ensure that their country’s borders, territorial sea and airspace were thoroughly blocked to prevent the spread of the virus.  Part of the preparation is the building of a hospital which is  well-equipped with ultra modern medical equipments which the Supreme Leader personally supervised.

The Philippines-Korea Solidarity and Friendship Society extends sincere congratulations to the great victories of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the Workers’ Party of Korea in the last 75 years under the competent leadership of President Kim Il Sung, great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il and Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un.

We commit to further strengthen proletarian friendship and solidarity between the Filipino and the Korean peoples in the years to come.

Very truly yours,

Mr. Rafael V. Mariano
