A Hearty Congratulations to the Workers’ Party of Korea

The NZ DPRK Society offers hearty congratulations to the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK).

When the United States military entered the Korean Peninsula in June 1950, their sole objective was to eliminate the WPK.  The previous year they had eliminated the Greek National Liberation Army (ELAS) in Greece and installed a government of their choice in Greece. About the same time they also covertly eliminated socialist leaning governments in Iran and Guatemala.

These actions were carried out under the 1948 “Truman Doctrine” which declared  global war on socialist organisations and launched the Cold War which carries through to this day.

Following through on this doctrine, the United States has gone on to wage overt and covert war against countless social democratic, socialist and communist parties all around the world.

Since 1950 the United States has used all means at their disposal, legal and illegal, attempting to crush the spirit of the Korean people and the WPK. They have failed.

For the WPK to have firmly withstood this onslaught from the most powerful country on earth for seven decades is an heroic achievement.

History shows that in the contemporary world a strong, unified, and creative party, firm in principle but flexible enough to adapt to changing circumstances is the key both to national survival and the prosperity of the people.

Wise leadership, as exemplified by Chairman Kim Jong Un, is indispensable, for without it parties either stultify or fragment, to the detriment of the people.
